My favorite food is Chinese dumpling; its pronunciation is jiao zi in Chinese. It is a traditional Chinese food and essential during holidays in Northern China. And it is also popular in other Chinese holidays or festivals, so it is part of the Chinese culture or tradition. I like eating dumpling not because I am from Northern China but because it is
really very delicious and stand for reunion. My family usually eat dumpling when all the members of family come together. Making dumplings with my sisters is the happiest thing for me. Chinese dumpling is one of the most important foods in Spring Festival. Since the Spring Festival marks the first day of a brand new year, the first meal is rather important. People from north and south have different habits of the food, so they eat different foods on this special day. In Northern China, people usually eat dumplings.
Chinese dumpling is a delicious food. You can make a variety of Chinese dumplings with different fillings. It depends on your taste and how various ingredients mixed together by you. I think the creativity roots in imagination. Albert Einstein said thatimagination is important than knowledge. Because we should creative a thing thatis never appeared, we need to image. Use all the things and information aroundus to think and then go to achieve it. Without the imagination of the Wrightbrothers , human could not complete the flying dreams. Without the imaginationof the Alexander Graham Bell, we could not hear the voice from a distance. Ifthe creativity can make the human progress, imagination will be the road tosuccess. Where the imagination come from? Knowledge ? Experience ? practice? Iconsider that all of them are indispensable. It is often said that knowledge ispower. 我最近读了一本书，名叫《宝葫芦的秘密》，这本书的主人公名叫王葆，和我一样，他也是一名小学生，他天真烂漫，喜欢幻想，爱出风头，又知错能改，正直。他想拥有一个宝葫芦，帮他做各种各样的事情，没想到有一天梦想成真了——在他钓鱼的时候，一次偶然的机会，使他得到了宝葫芦。
这个宝葫芦能帮王葆完成任何事情，例如：变好吃的，帮他完成手工，帮他变出满屋子的'花草，甚至是在考试的时候帮他调换试卷……虽然宝葫芦给了他一种“特殊的幸福”，但是麻烦却接二连三地找上门来，使得他在亲人、朋友面前出丑、尴尬，最后他知道那些东西都是别人的，这使他非常气愤，想扔掉宝葫芦，可是却怎么也摆脱不了宝葫芦。最后还好王葆只是做了一场梦，在这场梦之后，他受到了极大的教育。
通过读这本书，我觉得无论做什么事情，也一定不要抱有不劳而获的心思，如果有不劳而获的心思，终将会让人变得懒惰、迟钝。以后在我们做事情的时候，一定要积极动脑、动手，勤学好问，做一个聪明而勤奋的人。
We Are The World ,We Are The Future
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. To answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshness of the deep spring of life. A poet said “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. Several days ago, I had a chance to listen to a lecture. I learnt a lot there. I’d like to share it with all of you. Let’s show our right palms. We can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. I have a short line of life. What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way. Well, let’s make a fist. Where is our future? Where is our love, career, and life? Tell me.Yeah, it is in our hands. It is held in ourselves. We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go better itself.Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. From the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder. As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. The past has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “We are the world, we are the future.”

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
I am Chinese. I am proud of being a Chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. I've learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. I've learned about the Great Wall and the Yangtze River. I've learned about Zhang Heng( 张衡 )and I've learned about Zheng He( 郑和 ) . Who says the Yellow River Civilization has vanished( 消失 ) ？ I know that my ancestors have made miracles( 奇迹 )on this fertile land and we're still making miracles.
Who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our GNP ranks No. 7 in the world? I once came across an American tourist. She said, “China has a history of five thousand years, but the US only has a history of 200 years. Five thousand years ago, China took the lead in the world, and now it is the US that is leading.”My heart was deeply touched by these words. It is true that we're still a developing nation, but it doesn't mean that we can despise ( 鄙视 ) ourselves. We have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. We have reasons to say proudly ： we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition ( 雄心 ) is even bigger, our challenges ( 挑战 ) are great, but our will is even greater.
I am Chinese. I have inherited ( 继承 ) black hair and black eyes. I have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. I have also taken over responsibility. I am sure, that wherever I go, whatever I do, I shall never forget that I am Chinese!

During my staying there, my father’s boss once invited my family to dinner. While at table, he looked at me and asked: “Little boy, how long have you been in America?” “About a month,” I answered, “How lucky you are!” he said, “If you were living in China, how could you learn such perfect English?” I smiled and told him proudly that all the students in China are able to learn English at school. I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “I’m proud of you, China. For you are offering us the best education.”
When I came back from the USA, my friends asked me: “How do you feel about your staying there?”“Wonderful” I said. “Then why do you come back?” Hearing this, I told them there were lots of beautiful countries in the world, but none of them can compare with our own country—China. How true the saying is: “There’s no place like home!”

A Brother Like That A Brother Like That A friend of mine named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Mister?"
he said. Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas."
The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish . . ."
He hesitated. Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels. "I wish,"
the boy went on, "That I could be a brother like that."
Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my car?"
"Oh yes, Id love that."
After a short ride, the boy turned with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?"
Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?"
the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sathim down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent. And some day Im gonna give you one just like it . . . then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that Ive been trying to tell you about."
Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride. That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give . . . "

男孩跑上了阶梯，过了一会儿保罗听到他回来了，但动作似乎有些缓慢。原来把他跛脚的弟弟 带出来了，将他安置在第一个台阶上，紧紧地抱着他，指着那辆新车。
只听那男孩告诉弟弟："你看，这就是我刚才在楼上对你说的那辆新车。这是保罗他哥哥送给 他的哦!将来我也会送给你一辆像这样的车，到那时候你就能自己去看那些在圣诞节时，挂窗 口上的漂亮饰品了，就象我告诉过你的那样。"

Good morning everyone:
I am Qu Jierui. I'm from Class Two Grade Six. It's my pleasuer to stand here to talk about English with you.
I love English. English language is now used everywhere in the world. Learning English makes me confident and brings me great pleasure.
When I was five, my mother sent me to a kindergarten. At there, I played games and sang English songs with other children . Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world.
Everyday, I read English following the tapes. Sometimes, I watch English cartoons. At recess, I often go to English corner to talking with teachers and classmates, I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oral English.
I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit
Washington Monument, because the president Washington is my idol. Of course, I want to go to London too, because England is where English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge university, I will be very happy. I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. I'll introduce China to them, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and my hometown—Zouping

I think lots of students like the pop singer named Jay. I also like him very much. When he released his first album, I started to buy his album. And I never miss any album of his. Do you know as a boy, Jay was called Dull Stupid.
But his mother Yeh Huimei, noticed that the quiet, shy boy seemed to dance practically when he heard the Western Pop music she used to play. His mother sent him to a piano school when he was four. When he has grown up, he had developed an ability for instant playing beyond his years. I learned to play the piano from 7 years old to 13 years old. I often feel bored when I practise playing the piano.
But Jay was always crazy about playing the piano. I think he really likes music. So I admire him very much, and I call him hero. I admire Jay. The real reason is when the others all denied him, he never gave up. He tried his best to change his life. I think it is good for everybody. I think he is the best basketball player in NBA. He is also very handsome. I like Kobe’s basketball style, and I also learn a lot of basketball skills from Kobe. my favorite book is (italian: cuore). this is a diary written by an italian boy enrico. the diary is about his life and study. it included various touching stories that happened around enrico, the mottos taught by his parents, as well as the wonderful ten "monthly" stories told by his teacher during the class. every word in the chapter describes the word "love". from patriotism to friendship, and to the love between parents and child -- really touching.
this novel taught me how to love, and how to learn from love. i really like this book very much. how about you? what is your favorite book?
