1.介词的功能
介词是一种虚词,用来表示名词或相当于名词的其它词语句中其它词的关系,不能单独使用。介词可与名词或相当于名词的其它词构成介词短语。介词短语可在句中作定语,状语,表语和宾语补足语。例如:
The boy over there is John’s brother. (定语)
The girl will be back in two hours. (状语)
Our English teacher is from Australia. (表语)
Help yourself to some fish. (宾语补足语)
2.常用介词的用法辨析
(1)表时间的介词
at, in on
表示时间点用at。例如:at six o’clock, at noon, at midnight。表示在某个世纪,某年,某月,某个季节以及早晨,上午,下午,晚上时,用in。例如:in the ninettenth century, in 2002, in may, in winter, in the morning, in the afternoon等。表示具体的某一天和某一天的上午,下午,晚上时,用on。例如:on Monday, on July 1st, on Sunday morning等。
since, after
由since和after 引导的词组都可表示从过去某一点开始的时段,但since词组表示的时段一直延续到说话的时刻,因而往往要与现在完成时连用。而after词组所表示的时段纯系过去,因而要与一般过去时连用。例如:
I haven’t heard from him since last summer.
After five days the boy came back.
in, after
in与将来时态连用时,表示“过多长时间以后”的意思,后面跟表示一段时间的词语。After与将来时态连用时,后面只能跟表示时间点的词语。After与过去时态连用时,后面才能跟表示一段时间的词语。例如:
He will be back in two months.
He will arrive after four o’clock.
He returned after a month.
(2)表示地点的介词
at, in, on
at一般指小地方;in一般指大地方或某个范围之内;on往往表示“在某个物体的表面”。例如:
He arrived in Shanghai yesterday.
They arrived at a small village before dark.
There is a big hole in the wall.
The teacher put up a picture on the wall.
over, above, on
over, on和above都可表示“在……上面”,但具体含义不同。Over表示位置高于某物,在某物的正上方,其反义词是under。 above也表示位置高于某物,但不一定在正上方,其反义词是below。On指两个物体表面接触,一个在另一的上面。例如:
There is a bridge over the river.
We flew above the clouds.
They put some flowers on the teacher’s desk.
across, through
across和through均可表示“从这一边到另一边”,但用法不同。Across的含义与on有关,表示动作在某一物体的表面进行。Throgh的含义与in有关,表示动作是在三维空间进行。例如:
The dog ran across the grass.
The boy swam across the river.
They walked through the forest.
I pushed through the crowds.
in front of, in the front of
in front of 表示“在某人或某物的前面”,在某个范围以外;in the front of 表示“在……的前部”,在某个范围以内。例如:
There are some tall trees in front of the building.
The teacher is sitting in the front of the classroom.
介词的固定搭配
介词往往同其他词类形成了固定搭配关系。记住这种固定搭配关系,才能正确使用介词。
(1)介词与动词的搭配
listen to , laugh at, get to, look for wait for, hear from, turn on, turn off, worry about, think of, look after, spend…on…, 等。
(2)介词与名词的搭配
on time, in time, by bus, on foot, with pleasure, on one’s way to, in trouble, at breakfast, at the end of, in the end等。
(3)介词与形容词的搭配
be late for, be afraid of, be good at, be interested in, be angry with, be full of, be sorry for等。
短语动词的分类
(1)动词+介词
常见的有look for, look after, ask for, laugh at, hear of 等。这类短语动词的`宾语只能放在介词后。如:
Don’t laugh at others.
Tom asked his parents for a bike.
(2)动词+副词
常见的有give up, pick up, think over, find out, hand in,等。这类短语动词的宾语如果是名词,既可放在副词前边,又可放在副词后边;宾语如果是人称代词或反身代词,则要放在副词前边。如:
You’ll hand in your homework tomorrow.
Please don’t forget to hand it in.
(3)动词+副词+介词
常见的有 go on with, catch up with等。这类短语动词的宾语只能放在介词后边。如:
Go on and I’ll catch up with you in five minutes.
After a short rest, he went on with his research work.
(4)动词+名词+介词
常见的有take care of, make use of, pay attention to, make fun of 等。这类短语动词的宾语只能放在介词后边。如:
You should pay attention to your handwriting.
We should make full use of our time.
(5)动词+形容词
常见的有leave open, set free, cut open等。这类短语动词的宾语如果是名词,则宾语可放在形容词的前边,也可放在后边;宾语如果是人称代词或反身代词,则必须放在形容词前边。如:

(6)动词+名词
常见的有take place, make friends等。这类短语动词用作不及物动词。如:
This story took place three years ago.

二、动名词(doing)
动名词相当于名词,在句子中可以做主语、宾语、表语、定语等。
1. 作主语
Fighting broke out between the South and the North.
南方与北方开战了。
2. 作宾语
Would you mind turning down your radio a little, please?
请问你介意调小一点收音机的音量吗?
3. 作表语
Babysister’s job is washing,cooking and taking care of the children.

三、used to 的用法
used to 意为过去常常做某事。
used to 的用法:
1. 肯定句:used这个词没有人称的变化,to后面接动词原形。
否定句是didn’t use to….
When I was a child, I didn’t use to like apples.
当我还是孩子的时候我不喜欢苹果。
疑问形式是Did you use to…?
Where did you use to live before you came here?
当你来这儿之前你住哪儿?
2. 含有used to 的句子的反意疑问句不要usedn’t + 主语,而用didn’t + 主语。
——He used to smoke, didn’t he?
——他过去常常吸烟,是吗?
Yes, he did./ No, he didn’t.
是的,他吸。/ 不,他不吸。
【重点语法】
一、宾语从句
宾语从句在复合句中作主句的宾语。三大考点:引导词、时态和语序。其中,语序必须是陈述句语序。
1. 常由下面的一些词引导:
①由that 引导,表示陈述意义,that可省略
He says (that) he is at home. 他说他在家里。
②由if , whether引导,表示一般疑问意义(带有是否、已否、对否等)
I don’t know if / whether Wei Hua likes fish. 我不知道韦华是否喜欢鱼。
③由连接代词、连接副词(疑问词) 引导,表示特殊疑问意义
Do you know what he wants to buy? 你知道他想要买什么吗?
2. 从句时态要与主句一致
当主句是一般现在时,从句根据情况使用任何时态
当主句是一般过去时,从句应使用过去某时态(一般过去时,过去进行时,过去将来时,过去完成时)
He said (that) he was at home. 他说他在家里。
I didn’t know that she was singing now. 我不知道她正在唱歌。
She wanted to know if I had finished m homework. 她想要知道我是否已经完成了我的作业。
Did you know when he would be back? 你知道他将会什么时候回来?
二、感叹句
感叹句是表达喜、怒、哀、乐以及惊奇、惊讶等强烈感情的句子。
感叹句通常由 what 或 how 引导。现分述如下:
1. 由 what 引导的感叹句,其句子结构可分为以下三种:
①可用句型:“ What + a/an +形容词+可数名词单数+主语+谓语+ 其他!”。如:
What a nice present it is! 它是一件多么好的礼物啊!
②可用句型:“ What +形容词+可数名词复数+主语+谓语+ 其他!”。如:
What beautiful flowers they are! 多么漂亮的花啊!
③可用句型:“ What +形容词+不可数名词+主语+谓语+ 其他!”。如:
What fine weather it is today! 今天天气多好啊!
2. 由 how 引导的感叹句,其句子结构也分为三种:
①可用句型:“ How +形容词 / 副词+主语+谓语+ 其他!”。如:
How careful she is! 她多么细心啊!
How fast he runs! 他跑得多快啊!
②可用句型:“ How +形容词+ a/an +可数名词单数+主语+谓语!”。如:
How beautiful a girl she is! 她是个多么漂亮的姑娘啊!
③可用句型:“ How+主语+谓语!”。如:
How time flies! 光阴似箭!
3. 由 what 引导的感叹句与由 how 引导的感叹句有时可以转换,但句中部分单词的顺序要有所变化。如:
How beautiful a girl she is! = What a beautiful girl she is!
What delicious cakes these are! = How delicious these cakes are!

9many, much的用法
Many,much都意为"许多",many +可数名词,much +不可数名词。
How many people are there at the meeting

Many of the workers were at the meeting.
Much of the time was spent on learning.
(一)need和dare的用法
need和dare既可用作情态动词,也可用作实义动词。用作情态动词时,主要用于否定句和疑问句。用作实义动词时,可用于各种句式。
1.用作情态动词--Need I come? --Yes, you must. --我需要来吗? --需要。 You needn't telephone him now. 你现在不必打电话给他。
I don't think you need worry. 我想你不必发愁。
She dare not go out alone at night. 她晚上不敢一个人出去。
How dare you say I'm unfair? 你竟敢说我不公平?
Not one of them dared mention this. 他们谁也不敢提这件事。
2.用作实义动词You don't need to do it yourself. 你不必亲自做这件事。 We need to tell them the news. 我们需要把这消息告诉他们。
The table needs painting (to be painted.). 桌子需要油漆一下。
We should dare to give our own opinion. 我们要敢于提出自己的观点。
He did not dare (to) look up. 他不敢抬头看。
I dare day he'll come again. 我想他会再来的。(I dare say…为固定习语)
(二)情态动词后跟完完成这项工作的。
He isn't here. He must have missed the train. 他还未到,一定是没赶上火车。 Where can (could) he gone? 他能到那里去了呢?
You may (might) have read about it. 你可能在报上已经读到这件事了。 You could (might) have been more careful. 你本来可以更细心的。
He needn't have worried it. 他本不必为此事担心。
There was a lot of fun at yesterday's party. You ought to have come, but why didn't you? 昨天的聚会非常有意思。你本应该�
如:You must stay here until I come back.
Must I hand in my homework right now?
对must引导的疑问句,肯定回答为must,否定回答为needn’t 或don’t have to .
如:—Must I finish my homework?
—No, you needn’t.
(2)must也可以表示有把握的推测,意为“ 一定,肯定”,用于肯定句。
如: The light is on, so he must be at home now.
其否定形式mustn’t表示“禁止,不许”。
如:You mustn’t play with fire.
You mustn’t be late.
2. could
(1)can的过去式,意为“能、会”,表示过去的能力。
如:He could write poems when he was 10.
(2)could在疑问句中,表示委婉请求的语气,此时could没有过去式的意思。
如:Could you do me a favour?
—Could I use your pen?
—Yes, you can.(注意回答)
3. might
might为may的过去式。might表示推测时,表示可能性低于may(此时might没有过去式的意思),当请求讲时,比may的语气更委婉。
如:He is away from school. He might be sick.

4. can
(1)表示能力,一般译为“能、会”,尤其指生来具备的能力。
如:She can swim fast, but I can’t .
(2)表示许可,常在口语中。
如:You can use my dictionary.
(3)表示推测,意为“可能”,常用于否定句和疑问句中,此时can’t译为“不可能”。
如:—Can the news be true?
—No, it can’t be our teacher. He is on a visit to the Great Wall.
被动语态
1.英语中动词有两种语态:主动语态和被动语态
主动语态表示主语是谓语动词动作的执行者,被动语态表示主语是谓语动词动作的承受者。
当我们强调谁是某个动作的执行者,即"谁做了某种事情"时,用主动语态。
eg:Danielboughtanewcomputer丹尼尔买了一台新电脑。(不是别人)
如果主语不是动作的执行者,而是动作的承受者时,就是被动语态。
eg:AnewcomputerwasboughtbyDaniel一台新电脑被丹尼尔买了。
被动语态的谓语由be+动词的过去分词构成,其中be是助动词,随时态改变。
一般现在时的被动语态由"am/is/are+动词的过去分词"构成。
